In year 4 we have been thinking about China. Earlier in the week we looked at the story of "The Willow Pattern" and today the children painted their own willow pattern plate designs. They also found their name in Chinese on the internet, designed bookmarks and sampled Chinese cuisine. Everybody tried to learn how to eat using chopsticks and some children gobbled down a whole pot of egg fried rice!
All the children had a chance to cook and prepare some things for our Chinese banquet, which was magnificent. This was partly due to the generous donations we received from Waggamammas, Yo Sushi!, Eamail, Noodle Bar, Marks and Spencer, Sainsburys and The Mandarin Duck. Many thanks to these retailers. The children tried a variety of dishes including stir fried chicken, sesame seed toast and pak choi.
After demolishing their Chinese banquet they also had a chance to sample Year 3's pizzas. Sorry parents if they did not eat much of their packed lunch!
We had so much fun that we will be continuing our Chinese experience tomorrow.
