On Tuesday 2nd March Year 4 visited the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford looking for Egyptian artefacts. It was a beautiful, sunny day- what a pity it wasn't like that when we visited Mop End!! We saw mummies, ankhs, scarab beetles, a was or two, shwabtis, canopic jars, hieroglyphics and papyrus. If you don't know what all these things are then ask Year 4.
The children also had a chance to explore other areas of the museum and looked at paintings by Van Gogh, Turner and Samuel Palmer- no relation, Stradivarius violins and some modern art.
Museum staff commented on the children's excellent behaviour and their knowledge of Ancient Egypt so well done Year 4 you are a credit to Cedar Park.
