On Tuesday 27th November Year 6 travelled back in time to become Victorian children for a day. They looked fantastic in their costumes; the girls in their mop caps and pinnies and boys in their caps and waistcoats. They braved the cold and entered into the spirit of the day. They learned how to make plum pudding, stirring it clockwise and making three wishes. Children gained an understanding of what Christmas presents a Victorian child could expect in their stocking and tried out some Victorian toys.'In the afternoon the children discovered how strict Victorian teachers were and how children in the 1800's were expected to learn and behave. It was a bit of a shock for them to realise that they were not allowed to write with their left hand and had to call the teacher, "Maam!" I rather liked it.
As you can see from the pictures a splendid day was had by all.
