Welcome to Year 1's Class Page
The children have now moved on to their final topic of the year... 'We're all going on a summer holiday!' We look forward to learning about so many things including... seaside holidays in the past, the invention of the steam train, forces, plants, European and non-European countries, and much more! Each half term brings a new topic title filled with exciting learning opportunities - these are outlined in the Curriculum News documents (please see below).
In our class we have a wonderful team of adults supporting the children - Mrs Marsh supports the class every morning, Mrs Wilkinson joins us for afternoon sessions Monday-Thursday, Mrs Sirrell is with us Wednesday-Friday, and Mrs Edwicker finishes the week with us on a Friday afternoon.
Some handy reminders:
* We send home two reading books every Friday - children's reading records/books should be in their bookbags everyday, and will be taken out for changing on a Thursday, ready to send home the following day
*PE lessons take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays - Swimming will take place in the second week after the May half term break
*We will be visiting the library every Wednesday - children should always bring borrowed books back to school even if they are renewing an item
With so much happening every week, I will continue to upload a 'weekly update' article to the class page every Friday so that you can keep up to date with the children's learning and be aware of any important messages.
I look forward to making Year 1 a happy and successful year for the children!
