Our teacher is Miss Kirkley and we also have help from Miss Tonelli, Mrs Forbes and Mrs Verrall.
In our second term we are studying Britain since the 1950s as part of our topic, which will cover history and geography and where possible, art, design and technology. In literacy we’re going to be looking at recounts and reports and hopefully we’ll be able to make a few ties to our own personal experiences – look out for these in the second half of the term! We’re going on a trip to Woodrow for a week; 18th-22nd January, which will no doubt be the highlight of the term for most of the children and possibly even the teachers!
Our class bear Brownie should hopefully be continuing to pop home for a visit with some of us. Unfortunately due to snow this might cut the chances of everyone getting a chance but we’ll try our best. Musical skills in the class are blossoming beautifully and the children are starting to sound really professional when combined on all their new instruments – I am certainly looking forward to the results at the end of the year although I imagine a few parents might be relieved to reach that point!
We wish you all a happy 2010 and hope that if you have any queries or concerns at any point you will feel free to come and discuss these with Miss Kirkley, Miss Tonelli or any other staff.
