Year 3 had the wonderful opportunity to see the Queen as she visited Hatfield House as part of her Diamond Jubilee Tour. The class threw themselves into the spirit by dressing up in Tudor costumes and were extremely excited about seeing Her Majesty.
We were very lucky that the weather turned out to be beautiful and we were given the perfect spot to see the Queen as she drove past on her way to Hatfield House. With cameras at the ready, and even a bunch of flowers, we waited with great anticipation for the arrival of Her Majesty.
As the car approached, everyone could feel the excitement of the day building as the Queen was slowly driven past waving at us as she came by! We even managed to take a clear picture of her smiling!
After seeing Her Majesty, we were then able to step back in time and meet Henry VIII and learn lots more about the Tudors.
The trip to Hatfield House was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the children will have taken away lasting memories of 'the time they saw the Queen'. Here are some photos of our day that we wanted to share with you and for you to enjoy!
Thank you to all the parents who came to help on the trip. If you do have any photos that are particularly good, please email them to the school office and they will be added to the Year 3 Class Page. Thank you!
