Assessment
Assessment is crucial to everything we do at Cedar Park. It helps us to:
- Achieve our LEARN curriculum statement
- Plan effectively
- Navigate through a unit of learning successfully
- Identify learners who need intervention
- Write purposeful Provision Maps for SEND pupils
- Give timely feedback during lessons or within Check In
We separate assessment into two parts. The first of those parts is our assessment within core subjects, where we have a termly cycle, that has been designed to best support pupils, staff and parents.
We also have an approach to the assessment of the wider curriculum, which is ever evolving based on research and the development of our own curriculum. Below is a flow chart that explains our approach to assessment of the wider curriculum.
