School Council
Our School Council represents the views of the pupils in our school. Each class democratically elects two pupils to sit on the School Council. They feedback to their class and contribute ideas to meetings from their class. There is then a Chair and a Vice-Chair (from Year 6) and Miss Mason helps to Chair the meetings as well. EYFS are involved with School Council when deemed suitable. The School Council sits regularly throughout the year and works on whole school projects and fundraising.
This year's school councillors (2024-2025) are:
Chair: Teddy
Vice-Chair: Alfie
Year 1: April and Poppy
Year 2: Willow and Freddie
Year 3: Ezra and Ibrahim
Year 4: Isaac W and Phoenix
Year 5: Finlay and Jenson
Year 6: Pavle and Samuel
The School Council agreed to a charter which all councillors must uphold.
School Councillors should:
1. Be inclusive
2. Listen to adults and their peers
3. Be kind
4. Be helpful
5. Be respectful.
Councillors also agreed that their position may be at risk if they are unable to uphold the school's behaviour policy and present themselves as model pupils.
In 2024-2025, we are continuing the work from the previous council of working towards making our school more environmentally sustainable. Additionally, the school council are at the centre of our new lunchtime development where we are implementing the OPAL programme.
Pupil voice is essential to this project! Our school council supported the delivery of a pupil questionnaire and have spoken with their classes about the activities and equipment that our pupils would like to see outside.
We are excited to see the first stages of OPAL take shape in the Summer Term 2025.
Our next meeting is: Thursday 8th May at 1pm.
Our previous meeting was: Thursday 30th January at 1pm.
