Welcome to Year 6!
I hope you have had a wonderful christmas break and are ready for the Spring term in Year 6!
I would like to thank everyone again for your kind gifts and christmas wishes.
Key Information
Our PE slots for the Spring term will be on Tuesday and Wednesday.
This half term, the children will have Home Learning on Wednesday and Friday. We hope you will continue to support your children at home with these activities, as well as encouraging reading and the learning of multiplication tables. There continues to be a greater emphasis on spelling, punctuation and grammar in ALL areas of the curriculum so please encourage children to proof-read all their writing and speak in grammatically correct sentences.
Uniform - I remind you that children are expected to set a good example and look smart at all times as the younger children look up to the Year 6s as role models. Hair should be tied back with plain hair ties and clips of a colour which blends in with school uniform. Ear studs are permitted but nothing else. School hoodies are fine to be worn in place of jumpers.
Pencil Cases - Pencil cases will not be required as equipment is provided for all children.
Reading Records - As we progress into the spring term, it becomes even more important that I am able to see your children's reading records weekly so that I can monitor their reading and further support their progress. Please encourage them to record their reads and hand their reading records in to be checked every Friday.
Finally, please continue to share any concerns you may have as it is important to us that your child is happy in school, especially during their final year.
