Governing Body of Cedar Park School
The Governing Body of Cedar Park School consists of 9 members of the school community, including 4 Parents, 2 Associate Governors, 1 Staff member, 1 Co-opted member and the Headteacher.
Governors are volunteers who want to make a positive contribution to our school and its success. We each bring different skills and experiences so that we form a balanced and capable team.
The role of the governing body is a strategic one with three key functions:
Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of children in the school
Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
Ensuring there's a voice for all stakeholders
We hold two termly meetings as a whole Governing Body to discuss issues including: the children and how well they are learning, the school budget, and any current or forthcoming government initiatives and how we should respond to them.
All aspects of governance are delegated to sub-committees: Teaching and Learning; Finance; Pay and Personnel; and Premises, Health and Safety. Each Governor is encouraged to be on at least one committee. These committees meet at least once a term.
