School and British Values
School Vision and Core Principles
Our vision: Cedar Park is a school where there are no limits; a world class school, that inspires children today, tomorrow and for the rest of their lives.
We have three core principles: be kind, be inspired, believe.
The children have chosen six key behaviours that embody these core principles:
- Compassion
- Co-operation
- Courage
- Passion
- Perseverance
- Respect
These can be seen below as they are displayed on posters around our school:
Promoting Fundamental British Values
In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.
The Key Values are:
- democracy
- rule of law
- individual liberty
- mutual respect
- tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
Personal Development
We place high value on personal development of our children and dedicate lots of time to giving them variable, life-enhancing and new experiences.
From our bespoke British Values Award to our work across the globe with Kombaka School in Kenya, Cedar Park utilises its beautiful school site and goes beyond it by engaging with the community and the wider world.
