Year 3
Welcome to Spring Term in Year 3
(2025-2026)
Happy New Year! We hope you had a fantastic time with friends and family over the Christmas holidays and are refreshed and raring to go! Thank you so much for the all the cards and presents we received, they were very much appreciated.
Mr Smith is back and will be teaching the class on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Mrs Barker will be teaching Thursday and Friday. Ms Picasso will be the Teaching Assistant supporting in class.
Our PE slots for this term will be on a Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday will be indoors with some assistance from Premier Sport and we will be doing Dodgeball for the first half term. Thursdays will be our Swimming sessions and this will be on all term. Please can the children make sure they bring the correct swimming kit and make sure they have no ear studs in on a swimming day.
After half term, our Tuesday session will switch to Fitness and we will aim to be outdoors. Please bring appropriate layers as the weather changes throughout the term. Earrings must be taken out for PE, and we would thoroughly recommend not wearing them on days when there is PE. We encourage the children to be independent in remembering to bring their reading and library books in each Thursday ready to visit the library on Friday mornings.
The Curriculum News, available below, outlines the topics we will be focusing on in each area of the curriculum during the Spring Term. We hope you will continue to support your children at home with their reading and learning multiplication tables and number facts. Further curriculum information can also be found below by clicking on the stars.
The school website will have updates, photos and information about what is happening in Year 3 so please refer to it throughout the year.
General Info:
PE & Games - Please note that indoor PE will be done in bare feet unless there is a medical need for shoes to be worn in which case a letter detailing this will be required.
Uniform - We remind you that children are expected to set a good example and always look smart. Hair should be tied back with plain hair ties and clips of a colour which blends in with school uniform. Ear studs are permitted as the only type of jewellery but nothing else.
Pencil Cases - Pencil cases will not be required in Yr3 as equipment will be provided for all the children. The children will all be writing with pencils.
Trips – We are in the process of organising some school trips and visits so please watch this space, and we will update as and when trips are confirmed.
Finally, please communicate with us as it is important that your child is happy in school and making good progress. We will dismiss the children on the playground at the end of each day if you wish to talk to us then. You can of course also contact the Office if you would prefer a phone call or meeting to discuss anything. We will aim to get back to you as soon as is possible.
