Welcome to Spring Term in Year 5
(2025-2026)

Hello everyone and welcome back! I hope you had a brilliant Christmas and are ready for an exciting term ahead.

This term, Year 5 will be exploring our local area and learning how to gather information through simple fieldwork. We will also be taking part in two trips: a visit to the Oxford Science Museum to support our science learning, and a local study to help us understand the community around us.

We will continue to develop our knowledge of materials in science, looking at their properties and how they are used. We will also be taking on the role of detectives, using clues and careful thinking to solve a mystery in English. 

PE

Our PE days are Wednesday and Thursday and we will be focusing on Gymnastics and Football. 

Kit

PE - wear PE kit all day - please dress suitably for the weather. 

Library

Our Library day is on Wednesday morning. Please ensure you bring your books back each week so that you can swap them for a new one. 

Please bring a fresh water bottle every day, and a warm coat with you.
