Year 6

Welcome to Year 6! We are so excited to begin what promises to be an action-packed and memorable final year of primary school. There is lots in store, with fast-paced learning, exciting challenges and plenty of fun along the way!
Year 6 will be taught by Miss Barker, with Mrs Giorgetti supporting the class each morning and Miss Sturgess supporting on some afternoons. Mr Spargo will also teach the class for one or two afternoons each week.
Homework:
During the Autumn term, homework will be set twice each week:
Maths: Set on Monday and due in on Wednesday.
English: Set on Wednesday and due in on Friday.
For the first term, homework will be set using Doodle.
PE and Swimming:
PE will take place on Thursdays during the Autumn term. Children will have swimming in the morning, so please ensure they bring their full swimming kit: swimming costume or trunks, swimming hat, goggles and a towel.
Their usual PE lesson will take place in the afternoon, so children should come to school wearing their PE kit on Thursdays only.
Library:
Year 6 will visit the library every Wednesday afternoon. Please ensure that library books are brought into school each Wednesday so they can be renewed or returned.
River Dart:
One of the most exciting highlights of Year 6 is our River Dart residential, taking place from 5th–9th October. This is always an unforgettable week full of adventure, teamwork, challenges and plenty of brilliant memories.
We cannot wait to get started and are looking forward to an amazing year ahead!
